The Salburua neighborhood is gearing up for its pre-festivities, themed "Flower Power," from May 29th to 31st. This initiative, promoted by the Salburua Burdinbide Auzo Elkartea, will take place in various locations throughout the neighborhood, particularly around the 8 de Marzo avenue. The program blends family-oriented activities with offerings from local hospitality businesses.
The pre-festivities will kick off on Friday, May 29th, at 5:30 PM with the presentation of the neighborhood's festival program at the residents' association. At 6:00 PM, face painting activities will be held in the same venue. The afternoon continues at 6:30 PM with a graffiti workshop at Salburua Txikis Academia and the Montadito Power pintxo pote event at participating bars, offering montaditos for 1 euro at establishments such as Goya, Kukai, Akure, RAW, Mullin’s, Alquimia, Circular, Hirusta, and Haritza.
From 7:00 PM onwards, the neighborhood will also host a performance by DJ Oihan Vega Móvil. Half an hour later, at 7:30 PM, a pre-festival street parade will commence, designed to tour different bars in the area, passing through Akure, Goya, Alquimia, Circular, RAW, Hirusta, Kukai, Mullin’s, and Aritza.
On Saturday, May 30th, activities begin at 1:00 PM with the Gilda Power vermouth session, also priced at 1 euro, at participating bars. This offering will be repeated on Sunday, the 31st, at the same time. The main event of the day will be the Batalla Musical / Musika Guda (Musical Battle), part of SalburuaFest. Concerts and DJ sets will be spread across several neighborhood bars between 7:00 PM and midnight, featuring genres like rock and roll, Cuban music, salsa, black music, urban electronic, and DJ sets.
The program will conclude on Sunday, May 31st, with a herri kirolak / rural sports event at 12:00 PM in the central area of the 8 de Marzo avenue. Afterward, at 1:00 PM, bars will once again host the Gilda Power vermouth session, marking the end of the pre-festivities weekend.
These pre-festivities arrive a month before the main Salburua festivals, officially scheduled from Friday, June 26th, to Sunday, June 28th, 2026, although the full program has not yet been released. Salburua will thus have an initial festive gathering in May, focused on community participation, local hospitality, and street activities, serving as a prelude to the main program planned for late June.
