The Montehermoso Cultural Center in Vitoria-Gasteiz is hosting the fifth edition of the 'Rock on Top' cycle, blending cinema and music to bring audiences closer to the bands and artists performing at the Azkena Rock Festival. This year's event includes four documentary screenings, exclusive festival experience giveaways, and an exhibition focusing on Gorka Urbizu's solo work.
The screenings will commence on May 27 and continue on June 3, 10, and 17, all at 7:00 PM in the Sala Ortuño at Montehermoso. The sessions will be in their original language, and admission is free, though advance reservation of invitations is required. Invitations will be available from May 20 on the Montehermoso website and the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council website, as well as by phone at 945 161 830.
Attendees of the screenings will have the chance to enter a draw for two double experiences at the Azkena Rock Festival. Each prize includes access to the Mendizabala venue, a backstage tour, and a ticket to enjoy the concerts with a companion. The draw will take place on June 17, following the screening of 'No somos nada'.
Additionally, the 'Rock on Top' cycle will feature the exhibition janela, which delves into the creative process behind 'Hasiera bat', Gorka Urbizu's first solo album after 25 years leading Berri Txarrak. The exhibition, curated by Garbiñe Ortega, showcases photographs by Ibai Arrieta del Pico and 16mm films by Alexander Cabeza Trigg. It will be open from May 28 to June 28 on the first floor of Montehermoso. The inauguration is scheduled for May 28 at 6:30 PM, with Urbizu himself in attendance.
