Two special control campaigns are scheduled: the first from October 1st to 4th, and the second from October 12th to 18th. These operations will take place during morning and afternoon shifts, supplemented by increased patrols during the night shift.
The updated regulations mandate the use of luminous or reflective elements when riding at night or in low visibility conditions. Furthermore, individuals using VMPS for professional purposes must wear a reflective vest while working.
The requirement for the vehicle's lighting to be permanently switched on will take effect from October 1st, 2027. The new rules also reaffirm the minimum age of 15 for operating a VMP and the mandatory use of helmets, measures previously incorporated into the municipal ordinance.

The increased focus on this mode of transport also addresses the volume of citizen complaints, with VMP-related issues accounting for over a third of the grievances received by the Local Police. "It's a concern for many people, and we want to act preventatively while also ensuring the new rules are followed," concluded Fernández de Landa.
