The Vitoria-Gasteiz Tourism Office recorded 20,867 visitors between June and August, who made a total of 27,363 inquiries about the city and its surroundings. International tourism accounted for over 20% of the total, representing a 3% increase compared to the same period last year.
By country, visitors from France were the most numerous (7.38%), followed by those from Italy (2.5%), Germany (2.31%), and the United Kingdom (1.33%). This growth is attributed to promotional campaigns conducted in various European countries.
Recently, Vitoria-Gasteiz was promoted in Bordeaux (France), one of its priority markets, showcasing its tourist, gastronomic, cultural, and cycle tourism offerings to sector professionals. The next international promotional campaign will take place in London from October 7th to 9th.
Regarding domestic tourism, Catalonia (11.64%), the Valencian Community (8.94%), Madrid (8.73%), and Andalusia (7.07%) led the summer rankings.
From January to August 2026, the Tourism Office has registered a total of 36,041 visitors and 49,163 inquiries. During the summer months, 1,763 people participated in guided tours, with the Historic Quarter being particularly popular due to its uniqueness and heritage.
The autumn schedule includes guided tours of the Medieval Quarter, Medieval Cisterns, Villa Suso Palace, Basilica of San Prudencio, Santa Isabel Cemetery, and the 'Battle of Vitoria' route. Family-oriented tours such as 'Estíbaliz Sanctuary: The Mystery of the Canecillos' are also available.
