Vitoria-Gasteiz International Theater Festival announces 34 shows for this autumn

The Vitoria-Gasteiz International Theater Festival has unveiled its 51st edition, featuring 34 distinct shows and 47 sessions scheduled from September 25 to December 13, highlighting local creation.

The program includes six absolute premieres of local origin and six pieces being performed in Euskadi for the first time. The lineup also features seven international productions and seven shows in Basque, reflecting the festival's commitment to both global and local theater.
Dance will play a significant role with seven performances, while the Jesús Ibáñez de Matauco theater will host experimental works and new stage languages. Additionally, four family-oriented shows will cover disciplines such as circus, theater, and puppetry.
The Teatro abierto section will facilitate dialogue between artists and the audience through eight mediation actions, including projects like Off Lokal, Proyecto bebés, and Imaginarios imposibles.
