This event will maintain its four traditional distances: 42K, 21K, 10K, and 5K. The route is urban, central, and flat, designed to facilitate participation and personal bests, fostering close interaction with the public.
A total of 4,874 people have registered. The 21K distance is the most popular, with 2,081 runners, followed by the 10K (1,581), the marathon (915), and the 5K (297). Female participation has significantly increased in the shorter distances, exceeding 52% in the 10K race and reaching 63% in the 5K.
36.3% of participants come from Álava, and 23.8% from the rest of Euskadi. Another 36.7% will arrive from other parts of Spain, and 3.2% from abroad. These figures confirm the open nature of the race, combining local participation with the ability to attract runners from outside the region.
The organization maintains a model for a broad audience, with each distance catering to different profiles. While the 42K is the main distance, the 21K continues to grow, the 10K has become an option for starting in popular races, and the 5K attracts new runners. The day will also include the Maratón Txikia (Mini Marathon) in El Prado Park, with age-adapted routes, and the registration fees will be donated to the ASPANAFOA association, supporting families of children with cancer.
