The Deportivo Alavés Women's team, affectionately known as 'Las Gloriosas', received an official recognition in Vitoria-Gasteiz following their promotion to Liga F. The event, held at the Vitoria Museum of Fine Arts, celebrated not only the team's athletic success but also its broader impact on women's football.
The tribute was attended by the entire squad, coaching staff, and support personnel, alongside club representatives and local authorities. The Provincial Council of Álava and the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council supported the event, emphasizing that this achievement extends beyond the football pitch.
It is not just a sporting achievement. It is also a boost for women's football in Álava.
The General Deputy, Ramiro González, and the Mayor, Maider Etxebarria, praised the team's dedication and the significance of their promotion. Both officials agreed on a crucial point: this success is not merely a sporting triumph but a substantial boost for women's football in Álava.
During the ceremony, coach Andrea Esteban and captain Itziar Gastearena presented commemorative jerseys to the authorities. In return, the institutions awarded a diploma of recognition to the club, which was accepted by sports director Dafne Triviño.
