The town of Zumaia is gearing up for the second weekend of its Santelmo festivities, where blue mahon shirts and Real Sociedad jerseys will take center stage, coinciding with the Copa del Rey final.

After an intense initial weekend, Zumaia has regained its strength to face the second phase of the Santelmo festivities, which will kick off this Friday. The distinctive blue mahon shirts, freshly laundered and ironed, along with Real Sociedad jerseys, are set to be the main protagonists, as Saturday's events align with the Copa del Rey final.
Friday's program begins with a traditional touch in Eusebio Gurrutxaga square. From 17:00, the Beheko Plaza association will host the classic open Rana y Pote tournament. Later, at 19:30, the III Irrintzi Championship will take place in Amaia square, alongside a bertso festival in the Oxford hall. To conclude the day, the txosnas area will host Bertsio Gaua from 21:30, featuring cover bands performing songs by groups such as Kuraia, Glaukoma, Extremoduro, Joxe Ripiau, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Saturday, one of the most anticipated days for the people of Zumaia, will start at 10:00 with the aroma of the XXVI Octopus Soup Contest filling Eusebio Gurrutxaga square, enlivened by the trikitilaris Elustondo anai-arrebak. While children enjoy Bizijolas games, grilled sardines will be served in Saregile square from 12:30, accompanied by a parade with the Iraunkorrak txaranga.
In the afternoon, following popular meals at the txosnas and in Torreberri, there will be options for everyone. Magic shows will be held at the Cofradía from 17:30, and rural sports in Odieta at 18:00, while an children's romería will take place on Erribera street.
Furthermore, the residents of Zumaia will have an eye on Seville, specifically at the Cartuja stadium. From 21:00, football will take center stage with the broadcast of the final between Real Sociedad and Atlético de Madrid on a giant screen in Odieta. The night will culminate with DJ Davila at the Cofradía from 22:00, and concerts by Bele, Labar, and Debrass Band at the txosnas from 22:30.
The final day of festivities, Sunday, will begin early with the dianas of the Zumai Txaranga from 08:00, followed by young musicians around 10:00. At midday, attention will shift to Itzurun beach, which will host a spectacular horse race at 12:00, while the Joselontxos charanga parades through the streets.
The afternoon will be marked by rowing in the estuary: at 17:30, the San Telmo Awards trainerilla regattas will be held. The farewell musical atmosphere will start at 19:00 with Samba badago and continue at 22:00 with the Olgetan romería at the Cofradía. The most emotional moment will arrive at midnight, with the lowering of the flag, marking the end of the San Telmo festivities until next year.
