Until this year, these two services were billed separately in Zestoa. However, following the practice in most municipalities, Gipuzkoako Urak will now send both concepts in a single invoice.
This change comes as the comprehensive management of Zestoa's water supply has become the responsibility of the Gipuzkoa Water Consortium. Consequently, the first invoices issued by the public company Gipuzkoako Urak on behalf of the Consortium began arriving at homes in Zestoa last week.
Thus, water consumption and the waste fee will be charged jointly. If residents wish to compare with previous years' water bills, it will be necessary to subtract the portion corresponding to waste from the total amount to determine the actual cost of water consumption.
Furthermore, last Wednesday, an automatic customer service point for water supply was launched on the ground floor of the Zestoa City Council. Through this machine, citizens can make changes of ownership, inquire about receipts, and cancel services. Those who prefer direct in-person assistance should go to the offices in Azpeitia and Zumaia.
