The young athletes of Orio Arraunketa Elkartea have had a highly productive weekend, achieving excellent results in the mobile bench rowing discipline. Between Saturday and Sunday, they participated in the Libourne International Regattas in France, followed by the Basque Country Mobile Bench Rowing Championships in Legutio.
At the Libourne competition, 16 Orio boats competed on Saturday and 14 on Sunday, totaling 30 boats across all categories and modalities. Among the results, 20 boats managed to qualify for the A finals, with 12 of them reaching the podium. Four boats secured gold medals: the junior women's coxless four and double scull; the male children's coxed four; and the male cadet's coxless four. Additionally, five boats earned silver and three took bronze.
Yesterday, at the Basque Country Mobile Bench Rowing Championships held in Legutio (Álava), Orio entered three boats in the absolute category. The day concluded with two victories, as the coxless four and the eight with coxswain brought home gold medals. The single scull, however, finished in fourth place.
