Nadia Erostarbe has demonstrated an exceptional level in the third championship of the 2026 Women's Championship Tour, the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro held in Australia. She finished in third position, after a close semifinal against Australian Stephanie Gilmore, who would ultimately be crowned champion.
This marks a significant step forward for Erostarbe, as the experience she gained last season competing in high-level tournaments has proven very useful. Now, with her Championship Tour card, she fully participates in the main world surf championship, and after showing good form in the first two sessions, this time she displayed elite surfing and managed to enter the Top10, climbing seven positions.
In the first elimination round of the championship, Erostarbe defeated American Alyssa Spencer, scoring 15.16 points with her two best waves. In the second elimination round, against another American, Caroline Marks, she scored 14.67 points, leading the heat. In the quarterfinals, she eliminated Hawaiian Gabriela Bryan with 15.67 points, a surfer who had won the first championship of the season at Bells Beach.
In the semifinals, she faced the legend of women's surfing, eight-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore from Australia. Erostarbe was not intimidated and took the lead with an 8.50-point wave. Ultimately, Gilmore raised the stakes to 15 points, and Erostarbe did not get the wave she needed to advance to the final. Nevertheless, with this result, Nadia Erostarbe is now in the world Top10, in ninth position.
