The institution stated that this decision recognizes the group's work and commitment to promoting Basque folklore since 1976. The dancers will ascend to the town hall balcony to ignite the festivities as a gesture of gratitude for their contribution to local culture.
The group is currently immersed in its 50th-anniversary celebrations. In September, they will present the Sahatsa 50 festival in Azkoitia and Azpeitia, followed by a special performance in November at the Baztartxo theater, accompanied by the Azkoitia Music Band and the Iraurgi choir.
