The Gipuzkoa Rowing Championship, held in Getaria, saw Orio emerge victorious in the men's category and Arraun Lagunak in the women's.

The Gipuzkoa Rowing Championship took place today in Getaria, featuring intense competitions for both men and women. In the men's category, the Orio rowing team secured the flag, demonstrating their usual dominance and maintaining their form from last season. They had to fight until the very end for the victory, ultimately edging out Kaiarriba from Donostia by mere hundredths of a second.
The men's team from Getaria performed well, finishing third and earning a spot in the Euskadi Championship. This qualification was also achieved by Hondarribia in the men's division. The rowers from Zarautz came in fifth, and those from Zumaia finished seventh.

"Our guys are happy with the work done, we can't ask for more, we've made the podium! Next week we will compete in the Euskadi Championship, and we hope to be competitive again."

Xabier Goikoetxea · President of the Getaria Rowing Club
In the women's competition, Arraun Lagunak from Donostia proved dominant, continuing their trend from last year. San Juan and Tolosaldea followed to complete the podium. Other regional teams, such as Zarautz, Orio, and Zumaia, did not manage to place within the top four and therefore did not qualify for the Euskadi Championship.
The Getaria Rowing Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and as part of the festivities, the Gipuzkoa and Euskadi championships have been organized in the town. Getaria will also host traineras league races in August.
