Firefighters tackled a minor fire that erupted around 2:20 PM this Thursday in the sawdust silo of a sawmill located in the Ubegun industrial park, Aia. As reported by the Ertzaintza, multiple units responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames.
The Basque Department of Security indicated that heat is a significant risk factor. Gipuzkoa, along with the rest of the peninsula, is bracing for a weekend of extremely high temperatures, with thermometers potentially reaching 35 degrees Celsius.
This forecast intensifies the risk of fires in the Gipuzkoa region, anticipating several days of intense heat.
