The event, held at the Zarautz headquarters, brought together representatives from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and UKUE, along with program participants and instructors. The ceremony acknowledged the effort and journey of the attendees, seeking to broaden their access to the labor market.
The ElkarEKIN Lanean initiative is part of the strategy of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and aims to promote personal employment through collaboration among territorial agents. In the Urola Kosta region, various training pathways have been developed, tailored to local labor market needs.
Through the program, participants received training for professional certificates, transversal skills, and support during their job placement process. Some pathways also included Basque language training as a complement to technical skills.
The developed pathways covered sectors such as industry, caregiving, cooking, aesthetics, and transport, combining technical training with job placement support to enhance participants' competencies and employment opportunities.
Ion Arozena, president of UKUE, highlighted the participants' efforts, emphasizing that programs like ElkarEKIN Lanean "not only strengthen individuals' capabilities but also expand their job opportunities." He also valued the crucial collaboration underpinning the program: "Initiatives like this cannot succeed with the work of a single agent; collaboration among institutions, training entities, companies, and other stakeholders is essential."
He also stressed the importance of the Basque language in the training, considering it an "indispensable" part of reflecting the region's and territory's identity, offering training linked not only to professional preparation but also to the local environment.
Finally, he reaffirmed UKUE's commitment to "continue working for the training and employment" of the region's residents, noting that the diplomas represent "more than the end of an itinerary: they are the starting point of a new phase." Koldo Peciña, Director of Strategic Projects for the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, underscored the strategic nature of ElkarEKIN Lanean, highlighting its contribution to improving individual opportunities and strengthening the territorial economic fabric.
With the diploma ceremony, participants conclude their training journey and now embark on a new stage in their professional careers, equipped with the knowledge and skills acquired during the program.
