The Kukuarri Week, organized by the Talaimendi Mountain Club, is taking place in Orio during the last week of May. The event, which began with the Talai Mendi Trail mountain race, will conclude this Sunday with the celebration of Kukuarri Day.
Throughout the week, children's activities have been the main focus. These have included an orienteering test and a slackline session. Today, Saturday, it was the turn of the activities that children enjoy the most: climbing and ziplining.
Participants first climbed the wall below the church, and after completing that, they obtained tickets to descend by zipline. The zipline, as usual, has been set up by the mountain club from in front of the church to the Town Square, and for two to three hours, children and young people have been continuously riding it.
Tomorrow will be the day to ascend to the summit of Kukuarri. The gathering point is set for 09:00 in the Town Square to start the ascent to the peak together. At 11:00, a religious service will be held at the summit, followed by the distribution of broth and pintxos.
