The Itzulia Women's Tour has once again passed through the region. The first stage began and ended in Zarautz last Friday, and today, the cyclists passed through the territory of Orio, although they did not go through the town center itself.
The participating cyclists completed a San Sebastián-San Sebastián route today, facing a stage of 113 kilometers. They arrived in Orio via Aginaga with only seventeen kilometers left to the finish.
The cyclists did not enter the town center of Orio; upon reaching the bypass of the Anibarko port, they ascended the slope to climb the Mendizorrotz pass. From there, they continued towards Igeldo to finish the stage in San Sebastián.
The first to crest the climb was the Dutch rider Nina Buijmans from the Human Powered Health team. The peloton arrived fragmented, with the leading group starting the ascent half a minute after Buijmans.
