Zumaia-based artist Iñaki Oreja has opened Atelier Orai, his new creative space, offering the public an opportunity to engage with his work process and acquire his pieces.

Located at number 4 San Pedro street, in the heart of Zumaia, artist Iñaki Oreja has unveiled his latest project: Atelier Orai. This new space invites the public to get a close look at the artist's creative process, observe him at work, and enjoy a selection of pieces exhibited within the atelier itself.
Atelier Orai is more than just an exhibition space; it's a hub for creativity, display, and artistic encounter. Visitors can view Oreja's works and, if interested, purchase them. The artwork featured with this presentation, for instance, is currently visible at the entrance of Atelier Orai.
The doors are open daily, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, providing a unique chance to explore the artist's world up close.
Iñaki Oreja, born in Zumaia in 1957, grew up surrounded by the power of the sea and the constant presence of nature, elements he states have profoundly influenced his artistic sensibility.
A self-taught artist, Oreja's work is linked to Intuitional Abstract Expressionism, characterized by its intense use of color, material, and movement. The palette knife has become his primary tool, imbuing his dynamic compositions with texture and energy.
Color plays a central role in his visual language. Applied in a 'direct, pure, and vibrant' manner, it serves as the main vehicle for communication in works that aim to establish a dialogue between the artist's inner world and his surrounding reality.
Each creation invites the viewer to embark on a personal emotional experience, transforming contemplation into a journey open to multiple interpretations.
From Atelier Orai, Iñaki Oreja continues to explore art as a form of expression, communication, and discovery, now sharing that creative process more intimately with the public.
