Alberto Martínez Ruiz, Health Minister of the Basque Government, will be at the Azkoitia batzoki on Thursday, April 16, at 6:30 PM, to engage with citizens on the challenges of the healthcare system.

Alberto Martínez Ruiz, Health Minister of the Basque Government, will give a talk in Azkoitia as part of the “Batzokixen Berriketan” initiative. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, starting at 6:30 PM, at the Azkoitia batzoki.
Martínez possesses extensive experience in healthcare and public policy. He holds a doctorate in Medicine and, from 2002 until his appointment as minister, served as head of the Anesthesiology, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy service at Cruces University Hospital. Furthermore, he has held significant responsibilities in various institutions, including the Society of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy of the Basque Country and La Rioja, and the Bilbao Academy of Medical Sciences.
He assumed the position of Health Minister in June 2024, as part of Lehendakari Imanol Pradales's government. Since then, he has addressed several key challenges, such as reducing waiting lists and laying the groundwork for a structural reform of the healthcare system.
During Thursday's session, citizens will have the opportunity to hear directly about the current state of the healthcare system, future challenges, and the Government's policies, as well as to ask questions and share their opinions.
