The Getaria Rowing Club has organized a series of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary. As part of this program, this Thursday, experts Aiora Belartieta (rower and physical trainer for Arraun Lagunak), Mikel Orbañanos (coach for Hondarribia Arraun Elkartea), and Iñaki Arratibel (sports physician and former physician for the Getaria Rowing Club for three decades) will give a talk.
The session will begin today at 6:30 PM in the Talaia Hall of Zarautz Palace, and the discussion will be moderated by journalist Kepa Iribar. They will analyze the physical changes in rowers over recent years and the importance of nutrition.
The conference series will conclude in June. The final session will feature Mikel Olazabal, a journalist from ETB from Zarautz, who has just completed a four-decade career in rowing. He will discuss his career and the evolution of the sport, accompanied by moderator Jon Ander De la Hoz.
The summer program will take on a festive atmosphere. In August, during the Salbatore festivities, inter-squadron batel races will be held. This event will provide an opportunity for former male and female rowers who have been part of the club to compete again.
