Getaria now boasts a new leisure element in Sahatsaga Goikoa park: a zip line. This installation is designed for the enjoyment of children and families, and it is a project that has been long-demanded by the public, primarily channeled through requests from the youngest residents.
Proposals were gathered through various initiatives such as Alkate Txiki Eguna (Children's Mayor Day), participatory budgets, and other engagement processes. In this way, the council has taken into account the wishes of the community to enhance the local leisure offerings.
The Getaria Town Council included a specific budget allocation this year to carry out the project. After evaluating several proposals, the one presented by the company Lurkoi was chosen, deemed the “most suitable”. The same company was also responsible for executing the installation work.
The new zip line involved a total investment of 15,147.99 euros (VAT included). This action is part of the municipal strategy aimed at improving children's leisure options and promoting the use of public spaces.
“"It is important to use the facility correctly and respect safety regulations."
The council reminds users of the importance of “using the installation correctly and respecting safety regulations”. This will ensure a safe, sustainable, and enjoyable space for all citizens.
