The Fabrika Bandera, scheduled for Saturday afternoon in San Sebastián, was severely affected by poor weather and sea conditions. Although the regatta was initially expected to proceed, the situation took a turn, causing unexpected outcomes in both league races.
TKE emphasized that the safety of the rowers was the top priority in decision-making, and that the organization maintained constant communication with the Department of Security of the Basque Government and the Maritime Captaincy.
The Euskotren League race was set to begin at 17:15, but by then the script had completely changed. Most coaches from the eight women's clubs refused to row due to the sea conditions. Initially, Donostiarrak and San Juan did not join the protest, but ultimately, before 18:00, the Technical Committee decided to permanently cancel the women's regatta.
The men's Eusko Label League race did go ahead, but it necessitated a change in format. Upon inspecting the race course, it was discovered that a buoy had moved. Consequently, the race started at 18:30 as a time trial, contested only from the third lane, with three consecutive starting intervals of four minutes. In terms of results, Orio emerged victorious, finishing 23 seconds ahead of Hondarribia.
