A locomotive carrying out night works derailed near the Zarautz station, causing the suspension of rail transport between the two towns. Passengers had to use buses.
The incident, which occurred on Monday night when a small tamping train went off track, interrupted circulation near the old level crossing in Zarautz. Consequently, Euskotren decided to suspend the service and arrange buses for passenger transport.
Euskotren workers immediately began the task of re-railing the locomotive and repairing any damage. These operations continued throughout Tuesday and into the night, allowing the service to be restored by Wednesday morning.
