The Udako Musika Printzak cycle held its final performance yesterday, paying homage to the Urola train. This traveling concert combined music, poetry, and a railway journey between Azpeitia and Lasaora.

The Udako Musika Printzak cycle presented its final performance yesterday, paying tribute to the Urola train. Under the title A century as our travel companion, a traveling concert was organized, blending the music of Garazi Navas and Ignacio Arakistain, poetry recitals by Maite Lopez las Heras, and a train journey. Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a unique performance.
The event commenced at 9:00 PM at the Euskal Museum of the Railway. There, Lopez las Heras recited poems from one of the museum's windows, while Navas (on accordion) and Arakistain (on piano) set her words to music.
Subsequently, participants boarded the train for a journey to Lasaora, listening to music and poetry within the carriages. In each carriage, Navas and Lopez las Heras offered different performances. Upon arrival in Lasaora, they presented another session at the local station, as dusk settled.
To conclude the traveling concert, everyone returned by train from Lasaora to Azpeitia at night. Those who attended were very pleased, describing the experience as something different and nostalgic, reminiscent of old train journeys.
Yesterday's performance marked the end of the 2026 Udako Musika Printzak cycle. This year's cycle began on July 10th at the Euskal Museum of the Railway, when pianist Javier Perez de Azpeitia provided live musical accompaniment to three silent film classics. The second concert took place on July 16th at the hermitage of Olazko, where tenor Aitor Garitano and Ignacio Arakistain performed pieces by Basque composers.
