The 23rd Azpeitia Hiria Classic Car Rally was held on July 18th, organized by the Lagun Artea team. The registration period for the classic car rally was open until July 13th at 9:00 PM. The registration form and rules were available on the Lagun Artea team's website, and those needing more information could write to info@lagunartea.com.
In this event, participation was allowed with cars aged 25 years or older, meaning those registered before July 18th, 2001. Both drivers and co-drivers had to be over 18 years old. For co-drivers between 12 and 18 years old, a signed parental or guardian consent form was required.
The rally started from the square in front of the courthouse in Azpeitia on July 18th at 11:00 AM. The route traversed the roads of Gipuzkoa, passing through the following towns: Azpeitia, Bidania-Goiatz, Orendain, Salbatore restaurant (with a 20-minute stop, around 12:00 PM), Mandubi, Gabiria, Aitxuri restaurant in Legazpi (with a two-hour stop, at 2:00 PM), Mutiloa, Abaltzisketa, Aia, Zarautz (with a one-hour stop, at 6:00 PM), Meaga, and finally, Azpeitia.
The organizers anticipated the first car would arrive in Azpeitia around 8:00 PM. Once all cars had arrived, an awards ceremony was held in the parking lot in front of the courthouse.
