Fifteen days after a fire broke out on April 2 at Erdikalea 27 in Azpeitia, residents of five apartments in the building are still unable to return to their homes due to extensive material damage.

The fire started around three in the afternoon on April 2 in a second-floor apartment of the building located at Erdikalea 27. Although firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and extinguished it, and successfully rescued two residents from the third floor, the material damage was substantial.
As a result of the damage caused by the incident, the occupants of the five apartments in the building remain displaced, unable to access their homes. While the building's structure was not compromised, a significant amount of work is required to clear the burnt debris, which is delaying the residents' return.
The Korrale bar, situated on the ground floor of the building, also remained closed from the time of the fire until yesterday. Its owners stated that they have now received permission to reopen after conducting necessary checks to ensure the proper functioning of gas, electricity, and other infrastructures.
