Students from Azpeitia and Azkoitia have presented their concerns and improvement proposals on sustainability, health, and local environment to municipal representatives, promoting local product consumption and sustainable mobility.

Students from Azpeitia and Azkoitia who participated this academic year in a new edition of the School Agenda 2030 program have shared their concerns and improvement proposals regarding sustainability, health, and the local environment with municipal representatives from both towns.
In Azpeitia, the School Agenda 2030 course concluded with a municipal forum held at the town hall. The mayor, Nagore Alkorta, and the president of the Environment commission, Joanes Amenabar, along with representatives from Ekoetxea, listened to the students' explanations about activities related to food and health developed during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years.
The students have developed an action plan to promote the consumption of local products, analyzing issues such as food labeling, school lunches, and food surplus management. Some groups have designed the campaign's image, while others have created slogans and prepared informational sheets about local producers after visiting the market and interviewing the baserritarras (local farmers).
Furthermore, they have designed pedestrian and cycling routes to access the market safely, accessibly, and comfortably. They have also created a guide to local producers to introduce them to the public and produced audiovisual content for social media to raise awareness about the importance of consuming seasonal and local products.
Meanwhile, in Azkoitia, approximately 1,200 students have participated in the School Agenda 2030 initiative. The students presented the conclusions of the forums on sustainable mobility to the mayor, Ana Azkoitia, in the plenary hall. Primary school students have driven the "Camino a la Escuela a Pie" (Walking to School) initiative, and secondary school students have worked on the "Azkoitia en Bicicleta" (Azkoitia by Bicycle) project, analyzing the municipality's bike lanes and proposing improvements.
