The Azkoitia City Council plenary session, held on June 24, 2026, focused on the new tender for the home care service and a credit modification related to the Altamira urban development project.

The council approved the start of a new procedure to award the home care service contract after the previous tender failed. Following explanations provided in the organization committee, political groups expressed their support for the new process.
The debate centered on the credit modification file. Concerns were raised regarding the development of Altamira, specifically questioning the priority given to private housing over protected housing and requesting more information regarding urban planning guarantees.
The modification includes a 50,000 euro allocation for the adaptation of allotments. An opposition group questioned the urgency of this expenditure, noting that urban planning licenses have not yet been granted, and submitted an amendment to remove the item.
Additionally, the council reviewed the 2025 financial control reports and approved the naming of a new street in the Gurutzeaga area. An institutional statement regarding the LGTBIQ+ pride day was also presented.
