The exhibition is part of a UNICEF project examining the situation of minors in Ivory Coast, focusing on labor exploitation in the cocoa sector. The project aligns with the 2030 Agenda, highlighting the need to strengthen public systems and education to ensure safe environments.
According to the data presented, more than 1 billion children worldwide suffer from some form of violence. In Ivory Coast, 31% of children aged 5 to 17 work, often in hazardous conditions. The exhibition identifies structural poverty and gender inequalities as factors that perpetuate these conditions.
The initiative, which includes the collaboration of the Hezi Zerb association, proposes a protection strategy based on prevention, risk identification, and strengthening local capacities. It also reflects on the current regulatory framework in Euskadi for creating safe environments for children and adolescents.
