The Azkoitia Town Hall has opened several grant calls aimed at associations, athletes, companies, and citizens to finance initiatives in the fields of culture, sport, and the Basque language.

The largest allocation is for the cultural and sports sector. The Azkoitia Town Hall has set aside 132,000 euros to fund projects, activities, and regular initiatives promoted during the 2025-2026 season by cultural and sports associations.
The deadline for submitting applications is June 13. Additionally, the council provides specific aid for organizing events, championships, or cultural and sports activities held in Azkoitia. Athletes and sports associations participating in competitions outside the Basque Autonomous Community can also apply for these grants until October 31.
Furthermore, financial support is available for non-profit associations and groups organizing popular festivals, with applications due by October 31.
The promotion of the Basque language is another area of municipal support. The Town Hall will finance the implementation of Basque language plans in Azkoitia's business sector with up to 2,000 euros per company. These grants will complement those previously awarded by the Basque Government for the same purpose and can be applied for until July 15.
Moreover, the council has allocated 45,000 euros for courses organized by UEU and EHU. For learning Basque, beneficiaries can receive up to 100% of the tuition fees. For UEU and EHU courses, students, the unemployed, retirees, or pensioners will receive 75% of the tuition, while those employed will get 25%. The application deadline is September 30.
Finally, 7,500 euros have been reserved to enhance the presence of the Basque language in the commercial and business sphere. These grants will partially cover actions such as installing signs in Basque, translating websites, or running advertising campaigns in the language. The application period concludes on October 31.
Full information on all calls is available in the grants section of the municipal website. For cultural and sports aid, contact can be made at 943 85 71 70 or kultu@azkoitia.eus; for Basque language-related grants, call 943 54 20 02.
