The first event will take place on July 26 at 10:00 AM, with a guided tour to discover the old paths, farmhouses, and historical landscapes connecting Barrika and Plentzia. The organizers have stated that museum members will have priority for booking spots.
On July 31 at 12:00 PM, the Astillero Txiki workshop will be held, a free maritime activity aimed at children. Participants will have the opportunity to build and customize their own small wooden boats, engaging with maritime heritage in a creative way.
Furthermore, the museum has opened its 2026 temporary exhibition: Plentziako Ontzigintza. The exhibition offers a chance to learn about the history of shipbuilding developed in the town between the 16th and 19th centuries, featuring models, dioramas, original tools, sea charts, and navigation instruments.
At the same time, restoration work continues at the 1562 tower house, which serves as the museum's headquarters. Following the renewal of the electrical system and windows last year, this year the balcony, the 1562 inscription, and the coats of arms are being restored, with plans to also work on the roof.
