The Urdaibai Handball senior men's team has secured its qualification for the final promotion phase and will face Urduliz, while the women's team remains in the Bizkaia Cup.

The season is entering its decisive stage for the Urdaibai Handball senior teams. The men's team has already secured its spot in the final promotion phase after defeating Ordizia 34-32 in their last match at the Arane sports center in Bermeo.
Initially, Ordizia started the match more effectively, taking advantage of the home team's initial nerves to lead in the first half, reaching halftime with a narrow 16-17 advantage. However, after the break, the coastal team reacted with improved play and a more solid defense, which allowed them to gain a four-goal lead midway through the second half. Despite the visiting team's pressure in the final minutes, the home team ultimately secured the victory.
With qualification for the final secured, Urdaibai will play their last league match next weekend against Urduliz, in Berango. The Bizkaia team also has the possibility of reaching second place and playing the final phase as hosts. Currently, they share third place with Hondarribia, both with five points.
Meanwhile, the club's women's team will face a new Bizkaia Cup commitment next weekend against San Adrián in Mundaka, still with chances to remain in the fight for qualification. The players arrive at this match after a 41-35 loss to Kukullaga, in Etxebarri, in a “very offensive” game. Before the start of the cup competition, the girls from Bermeo and Mundaka closed the Basque league in sixth place after a 33-33 draw against Zarautz at the Isla Kale sports center in Mundaka. Club sources have indicated that “we have had a difficult season due to the injuries suffered by the players”.
