The Gorliz City Council will construct two new outdoor sports facilities with an investment exceeding 100,000 euros, aiming to create functional areas open to the entire population.

In the coming weeks, the municipality of Gorliz will feature two new sports facilities. This initiative seeks to reclaim two currently “underutilized” surfaces, transforming them into “functional areas open to all residents,” according to sources from the Council. The project entails an initial investment of over 100,000 euros.
One of the interventions will take place on Argiñena street, where a multi-sport court will be erected. This court will include two basketball courts and an area designated for ball games. The design incorporates a perimeter enclosure and artificial turf paving, which will reduce acoustic impact and provide greater cushioning against falls. “This infrastructure has been requested in various neighborhood proposals, as there is currently no such facility in the urban area,” the same sources indicate. The court will replace an old children's area, which will be relocated to another site yet to be officially announced.
The second project involves the creation of a combined calisthenics and bio-healthy elements area on an unused green space in Ondargane. The section dedicated to physical training will include parallel bars and a specific circuit for strength and endurance exercises. Alongside it, a set of five machines—elliptical bike, stationary bike, pedals, lumbar and abdominal steering wheel, and a walking device—will be installed, designed for adults and older individuals.
