The Construcciones Ugarte Aloña Mendi handball team will begin its playoff matches this weekend in Berango to ascend to the Women's Silver Division of Honor, having concluded the Basque League season in fourth place.

The team must first overcome the Euskadi phase, which will see teams from Berango, Orio, Elgoibar, and Aloña Mendi compete. The Oñati team will face Orioko on Saturday at 4:00 PM. This will be a decisive match, as the loser will be eliminated, while the winner will play the final on Sunday at 12:00 PM.

"We are very happy with what we have achieved. Everyone has played, we have played well, and we have also enjoyed ourselves. In two or three home games, about 600 people have been watching the match at the Zubikoa court. This year, the handball section celebrates 50 years, and that is tremendous."

the team's coach
According to the team's coach, it has been an excellent season, surpassing the initial goal of maintaining their category. Although they are not favorites and have little experience at this level, he has assured that the young players will compete until the very end.
All matches will be played at the Berango sports center, and the Aloña Mendi handball section has organized a bus for fans. To sign up for the bus, registration is required at the Aloña Mendi bar before Wednesday, the 29th, at 9:00 PM. The bus will depart on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the post office.
