Tolosa will become a hub for blues music in Euskal Herria with the upcoming Tolosandblues festival, taking place from June 25th to 28th. The event will feature eight free performances, blending prominent figures of contemporary blues with local talent.
This twenty-second edition sees the festival inviting international stars to enhance its appeal, alongside promoting Basque bands. On the first day, June 25th, the Bilbao-based band The Cherry Boppers & Patricia Reckless will perform at Euskal Herria plaza at 8:00 PM, delivering jazz and soul rhythms.
On June 26th, the Zarautz band Slow Times will take the stage at Gipuzkoa plaza at 7:30 PM. Later, at 11:00 PM, Big Dani & The Rhythm Kings will liven up the night at Txurrería with their saxophone melodies.
One of the key days will be June 27th. In the morning, at 1:00 PM, Txus Blues & Cesar Canut will perform at the López-Mendizabal promenade, a seasoned group known for blending rock and blues with tangos and narcocorridos. In the afternoon, at 7:30 PM, Wax & Boogie will play at Plaza Berria, followed by John Primer & Giles Robson Band at 11:00 PM in the same square, bringing the essence of raw South Side blues.
To conclude the festival, on June 28th, the band Breaking Band will present a tribute to blues and rock legends at Trianguloa plaza at 1:00 PM. Finally, Acantha Lang, one of the most sought-after contemporary soul artists from the United States, will perform at Plaza Berria at 7:30 PM.
