The gathering included representatives from the municipalities of Abaltzisketa, Albistur, Alegia, Altzo, Amezketa, Anoeta, Belauntza, Berastegi, Berrobi, Elduain, Gaztelu, Hernialde, Ibarra, Irura, Ikaztegieta, Leaburu, Lizartza, Orendain, Ordizia, and Tolosa. More than 30 participants attended, representing various social, economic, and institutional sectors.
The IES Orixe institute in Tolosa hosted the event, where representatives from the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, town councils, the Ertzaintza (Basque Police), Osakidetza (Basque Health Service), companies, and regional associations shared experiences and proposals. The aim was to enhance joint responses in areas such as prevention, emergency management, cybersecurity, road safety, and coexistence.
This meeting was the 37th session of the Basque Security Forum process. This participatory initiative has previously held gatherings in various regions of Euskadi, including Durangaldea, Llanada Alavesa, Txorierri, Hernanialdea, Urdaibai, Urola Garaia, Uribe Kosta, Urola Erdia, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Ibaizabal, Bidasoa, Mungialdea, Goierri, Debagoiena, Meatzaldea, Rioja y Montaña Alavesa, Oarsoaldea, Bilbao, Aiaraldea, Urola Kosta, Lea-Artibai, Ezkerraldea, Debabarrena, Enkarterri, Araba, and Bizkaia, as well as a session with young people.
The Basque Security Forum is a participatory process aimed at building a shared diagnosis of security from an integral perspective, providing a meeting point to address common security concerns.
Following today's meeting in Tolosa, the next session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, in Kuartango.
