The Tolosa City Council has modified its parking ordinance to promote vehicle rotation in the main streets of the municipality, with a new regulation approved on April 30.

The new text details different types of parking, organized into four sectors: red, blue, green, and brown. In each sector, the usage time and conditions have been adapted to “guarantee parking rotation, promote traffic fluidity, and pay special attention to the needs of certain groups such as people with reduced mobility,” as explained by the Council in a press release.
To increase rotation, free parking will be allowed for 20 minutes in the blue zone, to “enable quick errands and tasks.” In the brown zone, parking will be limited to a maximum of 90 minutes.
Additionally, merchants will have cards for vehicles exclusively used for their economic activity, and trade guilds will benefit from special rates. These cards, in any case, can only be acquired by those with a driving license, regardless of the vehicles registered in their name.
The new ordinance was approved after a citizen participation process that included a preliminary public consultation and contributions from residents during the public information period. Following initial approval by the Plenary, objections were studied, and some were incorporated to complete the definitive regulation approved last week.
