Sergio Del Alba participated in the third audition of La Voz Kids, and the son of Sergio Rodriguez Cartajena 'el Gallego' from Alegia, secured the jury's approval. All four coaches turned their chairs as soon as they heard the young singer perform Rihanna's 'Stay'. Ultimately, Sergio chose Luis Fonsi's team for the upcoming battles.
Coaches Ana Mena, Luis Fonsi, Edurne, and Antonio Orozco offered high praise to Sergio. His family expressed deep gratitude to the singing school of tenor Jorge Elías, stating, 'we couldn't have done it without him.' He was accompanied on the show by his father, his mother, Adelina Cirstoiu, and his father's wife, Sandra Juárez.
The young singer's performance garnered significant media attention, including internationally, as his mother is from Romania. Sergio is the only boy from La Rioja to have entered La Voz Kids. Considering his Guipuzcoan heritage, he is one of few from the region, following Oihan from Oiartzun in 2022 and Aiert from Oñati in 2019.
Joining La Voz Kids had been Sergio Del Alba's dream since he was 7 years old. He will soon be seen on the program once the blind auditions conclude and the contestant battles begin.
Sergio is not the first musician in the family; his great-uncle, accordionist Jesús Bengoetxea, was well-known in Tolosa and the surrounding area, even winning a second prize in a provincial competition. Now, his wife María Cartajena and the rest of the Guipuzcoan family are closely following the young singer's progress.
