Ahead of the official starting 'txupinazo' tomorrow noon, residents gathered in the town square to tidy up the area and prepare it for the upcoming days. Subsequently, the Second Siega League of Gaztelu took place in the field behind the pelota court. Eight young participants from the local scythe school competed: Zoren Goikoetxea Arrizurieta, Lorea Zunzunegi Adurriaga, Inge Goikoetxea Arrizurieta, Haizea Larrañaga Etxarte, Aner Zunzunegi Adurriaga, Irati Tome Tena, Mari Olazar Aranzabal, and Claudia Pellus Leal.
Each competitor had to cut a plot measuring 5x14 meters, totaling 70 square meters. Following this, a challenge among the youngsters was observed: Urko Tome competed solo against Zoren Goikoetxea and Laia Zubiria. The gathered citizens and fans enthusiastically applauded the work of the local athletes.
The day continued with the performance of the play 'Jazinta la potra' on the terrace of the Ostatua. This street theater piece, created and performed by Lorena Arangoa, highlights the work and value of women in rural settings. To conclude the day, residents held a 'barrikota' (a communal gathering with food and drink) in the square, eager for the official start of the festivities.
