The Bidaniko festivals will take place starting next week, specifically from August 21st to 24th. The program includes numerous events designed for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy.
On Friday, August 21st, the day will kick off with various activities: children's games at 4:30 PM, followed by the txupinazo at 6:00 PM to mark the official start. Later, there will be a toka championship and a popular txikiteo (bar crawl) accompanied by trikitilaris. In the evening, at 8:00 PM, there will be Salbea (a religious service), and at 9:00 PM, a popular dinner will be held at the fronton. The night will conclude with the Gautegun event and music by DJ Indate.
On Saturday, August 22nd, children's football matches will be played at 12:00 PM. In the afternoon, at 4:00 PM, the VII Mus Championship will take place, followed by a cider dinner at 8:00 PM. The night will be enlivened by the Ahantzi romeria (traditional Basque festival) and a performance by DJ Naza.
On Sunday, August 23rd, a mass will be held at 11:30 AM, followed by a performance by local trikitilaris and a hamaiketako (mid-morning snack) for adults. In the afternoon, children's pelota matches will be played at 4:00 PM, and adult matches at 6:00 PM. In the evening, at 10:00 PM, there will be an important bertsolari session featuring Maddalen Arzallus, Nerea Ibarzabal, Xabat Illarregi, and Sebastian Lizaso, with young people from Bidaniko setting the themes.
On Monday, August 24th, the day will begin with a mass at 11:30 AM, followed by performances by local dancers and a hamaiketako for adults. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, the Bidani-Tolosa-Alkiza Challenge will take place. Afterward, rural sports (herri kirolak) will be held against young people from Albiztur, including wood choppers like Txomin Amundarain and Xabat Olaizola. To conclude the day, Ondoezik elektrotxaranga and DJ Xabifest will perform.
