The Mungia City Council has concluded the 2026 Participatory Budget process. The initial phase received 639 citizen proposals. Following a technical analysis, six initiatives advanced to the final stage, where 615 individuals ranked the proposals by priority.
The renovation of the sports center's gym equipment emerged as the most backed initiative, securing 1,820 votes. Following this, the restoration of the riverside promenade in the Atxurizubi area garnered 1,765 votes, and the second phase of the Torrebillela activity park obtained 1,573 votes.
The remaining proposals achieved the following results: Olalde: from hall to theater, 1,511 votes; Basque Language Digital Resources Fair, 1,155 votes; and an APP for the OTA (On-Street Parking Regulation), 975 votes.
The Mungia City Council extends its gratitude to all individuals who participated in the various stages of the process, both by submitting proposals and by taking part in the final vote.
