Mungia will host the inauguration of the Latin American, Antilles, and Caribbean Film Festival this coming Thursday, April 23rd, at Torrebillela Kultur Etxea, celebrating the richness and diversity of cinema from these regions.

This cultural event aims to bring different perspectives, stories, and realities to the public through the seventh art. The opening ceremony, scheduled for 6:00 PM, will feature the institutional presence of Mungia's mayor and the Minister of Welfare, Youth, and Demographic Challenge from the Basque Government.
The festival will commence with the screening of the film Mala Reputación, directed by Marta García. This Uruguayan-Argentine co-production tells the story of a woman who works as a sex worker and human rights activist, seeking to change her job and organize her colleagues by founding a movement for their labor rights.

Admission will be free until full capacity is reached, and a discussion with the director and a sexologist will follow the screening.

Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion with director Marta García and a sexologist, fostering a space for encounter and exchange of ideas about the film. With this initiative, Mungia reinforces its commitment to culture and cinema as tools for connection between diverse territories and sensibilities.
