The Mungia City Council will begin processing a new municipal ordinance that will regulate the transformation of empty premises into housing. To this end, a preliminary public consultation will be opened regarding the future regulations that will affect certain premises located in consolidated urban land areas designated for residential use.
Through this consultation, the Council aims to gather opinions and contributions from citizens, entities, and representative organizations that may be affected by the future regulations. A period of 15 calendar days has been established, specifically from September 8th to 23rd, for the submission of proposals.
Contributions can be made within the established period through the City Council's electronic headquarters or in person at the Citizen Service (SAC) offices.
The main objectives of the new ordinance are to update current regulations, simplify administrative procedures, and review and expand the areas where the change of use from premises to housing may be authorized, while always maintaining a balance with the protection of the municipality's commercial and hospitality activities.
Once this public consultation phase is completed, the City Council will analyze the contributions received and continue with the drafting of the ordinance document. When it is ready, a new period will be opened for citizens to submit allegations and new contributions within the corresponding public information procedure.
