Sara Gutiérrez and Ander Amonarriz Crowned Champions at Kanpezu-Ioar Mountain Half Marathon

The event, which concluded in Campezo's Samuel Picaza square, was also part of the Euskal Herriko Kopa and the Álava Championship.

Santa Cruz de Campezo hosted a new edition of the Kanpezu-Ioar Mountain Half Marathon, where Sara Gutiérrez Aranzabal and Ander Amonarriz Zubiondo claimed victory, ascending the podium in Samuel Picaza square.

This 26-kilometer race was also a qualifying event for the Euskal Herriko Kopa and the Álava Championship. The Codés mountain range once again welcomed mountain sports enthusiasts for the fifth edition of this significant event in the Montaña Alavesa region.
Nearly 400 athletes participated in the competition's two events: the short race, covering 13.5 kilometers with a 750-meter elevation gain, and the main event, the half marathon, which spanned over 26 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 1930 meters.
In the women's category, Sara Gutiérrez Aranzabal secured the win with a time of 3:15:35, ahead of Kiara Angulo (3:21:02) and Oihane Unzalu (3:33:18). For the men, Ander Amonarriz Zubiondo was crowned champion, finishing in 2:36:09, surpassing Iñigo Guereta Idigoras (2:37:28) and Aritz Kortazar (2:39:00).
In the short race, the women's podium was taken by Jone García Guerra (1:26:14), Eider Cardeñosa Etxeberria (1:27:08), and Klaudia Erkiaga García (1:34:11). In the men's category, Xabier Urbina Arriaran dominated, reaching Santa Cruz de Campezo square in just 1:11:02, closely followed by Kimetz Aranburu (1:11:11) and Koldo Callao Martínez de Olcoz (1:11:26) in a tight finish.
