The PNV has denounced the municipal government's 'serious neglect and lack of rigor' in managing the file for constructing social housing in the area behind Telefónica in Lekeitio. The party criticizes that a basic administrative requirement, such as publishing the document in the Official Gazette of Biscay, has not been met.
The events date back to February 12, when the City Council plenary approved the Special Urban Planning Plan for the PE02 Karabia area. However, the processing has been invalidated upon discovering that the Consistory failed to fulfill the legal obligation of official publication, despite the explicit mention in the plenary agreement.
According to the EAJ-PNV, the governing team also failed to properly communicate prior information to public administrations with sectoral competencies, a mandatory step before the final approval of an urban plan. Consequently, the City Council has been forced to revoke the initial approval and restart the process.
PNV spokespersons lament that such errors not only project an image of 'improvisation and lack of control' but also cause unnecessary delays in Lekeitio, particularly in a sensitive area like housing. 'Lekeitio needs serious and responsible management. These errors highlight the municipal government's lack of organization and control,' they added.
To conclude, the opposition party has called for 'more rigor, more planning, and less improvisation' from the municipal government to prevent administrative errors from affecting strategic projects and delaying necessary responses for citizens.
