Oier Elorz, a pelota player from Zaratamo, will participate in a pala doble match at the Galdakao festivities, alongside Eñaut Lizeaga from Astigarraga. The event is scheduled for September 12th at the Kurtzea fronton. This festival holds particular significance as it will showcase Basque Selection players competing in the World Championship.
In a separate incident, the Ertzaintza arrested a 35-year-old individual last Sunday in an abandoned factory located in the Arkotxa neighborhood of Zaratamo, following an assault with a cutter on another person. The attack occurred in the morning while the victim was sleeping in the factory. The assailant was apprehended and taken for police processing.
The Zaratamo festivities, held in the Elexalde neighborhood from August 7th to 11th, featured concerts, children's activities, a communal meal, pelota matches, and dances. Photographs taken by residents have also been shared.
Furthermore, Zaratamo's sports activities are set to commence in October. The registration period will open on September 2nd and close on the 18th. Sessions such as zumba, pilates, total fitness, and functional training will be offered at the centers in Elexalde, Arkotxa, and Moiordin. Applications can be submitted in person or online.
Lastly, the association Aztarnak Muralismo will organize the ‘Mila Koloredun Jaia’ for the second time in Arkotxa on September 12th. In addition to painting a participatory mural, there will be screen printing and graffiti workshops, and a creative space. An exhibition featuring 16 Basque graffiti artists is also planned.
