The Zamudio City Council has introduced several measures aimed at improving work-life balance and the quality of life in the municipality, including a new play center, extended operating hours, and enhanced municipal services.

Among the initiatives, a new play center service for children aged 9 to 11 years stands out, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. This initiative is not isolated but “the result of a way of working based on listening, understanding, and acting,” according to municipal officials. The new play center offers younger residents new spaces for meeting, leisure, and development.
Additionally, the municipal sports center's opening hours have been extended, now opening at eight in the morning. This allows the use of the facilities to be adapted “to the real rhythm of daily life,” aiming to facilitate the combination of sports activities with work, academic, and family responsibilities.
Improvements in citizen services have also been implemented, with uninterrupted opening hours on Wednesdays. This addresses the clear need to “make municipal services more accessible and useful in daily life.” All these initiatives “are not isolated actions, but rather form part of the same municipal model: a Zamudio that cares, accompanies, and generates opportunities at all stages of life, strengthening coexistence, well-being, and community life.”

"These measures do not remain in grand headlines, but rather delve into specifics, with services that work, adaptable schedules, and decisions that have a direct impact on people's lives."

Furthermore, due to ongoing roof works at Kultura Etxea, from next Monday, May 11, the ten parking spaces on Aresti Street will be unavailable for the duration of the work. The City Council recommends planning ahead, as this may affect parking in the area. These works are part of a project to cover the square, a key space for the social life of the municipality. The intervention will allow it to be used all year round, regardless of weather conditions, and will also optimize its structural design and integrate it with the surroundings.
