Starting April 17, Bizkaia will host numerous events, including the San Jorge festivals in Santurtzi, featuring txosnas, music, and traditional dances. Additionally, Barakaldo's BEC will be home to Spannabis, Europe's most influential cannabis fair.
The cultural offerings are diverse, with the book fair in Barakaldo standing out, featuring workshops, literary presentations, and theater performances. In Errekalde, the Euskal Jaia will be celebrated with music and drag bingo. Abanto-Zierbena will host a community walk, and Leioa will have Txiki Eguna, a family day with games and workshops.
Music enthusiasts will also have plenty of options, with concerts by artists such as Javi Medina, Maddi Oihenart, Ekiza, Fernandocosta, Presbicia, Def con Dos, and Mikel Markez. The Txakomic festival, blending gastronomy and comics, will take place in Leioa and Bakio. In Mungia, a plant fair will offer crafts, workshops, and a children's drawing contest.
In sports, Barakaldo will host a dance championship with over 3,200 participants. For nature lovers, there will be an opportunity to stroll through Urdaibai. Furthermore, Bilbao's Matiko kebab proposes a unique gastronomic challenge: a 100-euro prize for anyone capable of eating a 2.5-kilogram durum in 5 minutes.
