'Bilbo Eskutan', 'Zoriona', '¡Que rule Marijaia!', 'Los retazos de Marijaia', 'En volandas', and 'Un abrazo azul para Bilbao' are the six finalist works chosen to represent Bilbao's Aste Nagusia 2026. These were selected by a jury comprising Itziar Urtasun, President of the Mixed Festival Commission and Councilor for Equality and Festivals; councilors Asier Abaunza and Eider Bilbao; Susana Alaguero, president of the Old Town Merchants Association; cultural manager Laura Marchante; photographer Bego Elexpe; journalist Andoni Calvo; designer Iraide Eguia from Logoritmo; and a representative from Bilboko Konpartsak.
A total of 276 entries were submitted this year. Additionally, the Jury received advice on the use of Artificial Intelligence from Borja Sanz, a doctor from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto. Now, the residents of Bilbao will have the task of choosing the poster that best embodies the spirit of Aste Nagusia.
Citizens can cast their votes between June 15th and 21st, either online via the City Council's website or in person at the Ibaiondo Municipal Center. Once the votes are tallied, the jury will reconvene to make the final assessment, with the winning design to be announced on June 24th. The winning author will receive a cash prize of 3,000 euros.
Citizen votes, both online and in-person, will account for 70% of the final decision, with the remaining 30% based on the Jury's criteria.
