The Bilbao City Council has unveiled the six finalist posters competing to become the image of Aste Nagusia 2026, selected from 276 submitted works.

The Bilbao City Council has announced the six finalist posters vying to represent the Aste Nagusia 2026 festival. From the 276 proposals submitted to the contest, the jury has selected six: 'Bilbo eskutan', 'Zoriona', '¡Qué rule Marijaia', 'Los retazos de Marijaia', 'En volandas', and 'Un abrazo azul para Bilbao'.
The public will have the opportunity to choose their favorite poster between June 15th and 21st. Voting can be done online at www.bilbao.eus or in person at the La Bolsa building. The council stated, "The selected proposals stand out for their creativity and their ability to convey the festive and participatory atmosphere that characterizes Aste Nagusia, one of the most representative events on the city's cultural and social calendar."
The initial selection was made by a jury comprising: Itziar Urtasun, president of the Mixed Commission of Fiestas and Councilor for Equality and Fiestas; Councilors Asier Abaunza and Eider Bilbao; Susana Alaguero, President of the Old Town Merchants Association; Laura Marchante, cultural manager; Bego Elexpe, photographer; Andoni Calvo, journalist; Iraide Eguia, designer from Logoritmo; and a representative from Bilboko Konpartsak. Additionally, this year, the jury received advisory support on the use of Artificial Intelligence from Borja Sanz, a doctor from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto.
The jury evaluated criteria such as artistic quality, originality of the proposals, and their capacity to represent the values of coexistence, diversity, and inclusion that define the festival.
The winning poster will be announced on June 24th, and its author will receive a cash prize of 3,000 euros. The selected artwork will serve as the official image for Aste Nagusia 2026.
