From the start of the match, Basconia dominated the first half, but a lack of accuracy in both areas prevented them from achieving a better result. Quintero put the visitors ahead in the seventh minute, and Unax Urzaiz extended the lead in the 31st minute after a pass from Marcos Goñi.

Sestao River showed little life until the second half. After the break, the home team came out with more determination, and Castillo narrowed the gap in the 66th minute, following a corner kick. Ten minutes later, Asier Benito equalized with a header from a cross by Seguín.

The draw mathematically ended Sestao River's play-off hopes, while Basconia secured their permanence, although Ejea's defeat had already saved them from any danger. Towards the end of the match, Basconia came closest to scoring the third goal and taking all three points.
